While Temala and her family were here we did tons of things. We went out to eat, crabbing and to the lighthouse 10 miles away. I'm glad the lighthouse is open again so we were able to go inside and see it. It's such a pretty lighthouse. I did make it up the stairs. I also went down the stairs very quickly never letting go of the wall or railing.
This is a trail to a beach called hobbit beach. It is one of the prettiest places I have ever been. I wish we could have gone on more pretty hikes but this one was gorgeous and it was such an amazing weekend here. It was sunny and warm and there was no wind. That combination is rare here. This trail goes down to the beach on the north side of the lighthouse. You have to walk through a sand tunnel of sorts at the very end. It's so amazing.
After some squealing done by Temala and I we were informed that this was a sand crab. The reason we squealed was because his shell is still soft. If you didn't know crabs molt. All crabs do. So usually between march and august if you were to go crabbing the crabs have soft shells. They say the best crabbing is done during the months that end in er. November seems to be the best time around here I think. We have been three times now this year and have caught lots of crab. Three of them were big enough but all females (you can only keep males). We have had hundreds of little ones. Next year will be a better crabbing season I can already tell.
