A couple of things

First, my turtle past away. The poor thing I'm sure has been suffering for a while but finally went peacefully looking out my front window. We buried him my front flower under the bleeding heart. It just happens to be the easiest place to bury him. I had him for seven years and am now taking a break from the little critters until I have the time and money to take care of one correctly.
School is done for the year. My seniors graduated on Monday. They performed at graduation singing Come So Far from hairspray and everyone said it sounded really good. The only problem with the gym is that it's hard to hear period unless you have a ton of miches. Tuesday was the last day for the rest of my students and I did my final again that my mom came up with last year. Each one of my students has to write a five measure song. They complain about it and tell me they don't know what they are doing, which they don't but in the end they have so much fun. Some of those songs are very interesting. I have had screamo about how I rock, this year I had one about a magical elf that didn't like to go to bed, (I think I am going to use that one as a warmup next year), and then I have ones that surprise me on how talented they really are. Thanks mom for the great idea. I finished up today and am relieved. I like my summer vacation. My coaching position is still intact despite many talks of it being cut or being for free. Somehow we were able to dodge the bullet and I will be fully funded this next year. I have a year to prove that this program is worth keeping. Please keep it in your prayers. My teaching position is still intact the only loss I am facing is a 15% cut in my music budget and a 2% pay cut.
As hard and as stressful as it was for Tyson not to have a position at his school next year, it has come to be a blessing. The district that Tyson is moving to will not be taking a cut at all and he will be teaching what he actually got his degree in. We just found out yesterday that Tyson passed the middle school math praxis exam. Nice to have if something happens next year. Maybe another math position will open in Sisters Oregon. He is still working on his masters in math but he is getting closer. I wish it was over though.
Tonight we went to Big Jud's. Any of you who have lived in Rexburg know the place. They have hamburgers that have a 1 pound hamburger patty on them. They are the size of a dinner plate. (I will try and put some pictures up soon.)
Finally, I have watched two amazing totally different movies in the last two days. (I love redbox). First one is Extraordinary Measures, and the second is Dear John. My students have told me that the book Dear John is a good book so I think tomorrow I will go and check it out from the library and read it. Yes, I said I am going to read a book. I did read the twilight series. Then I finally broke down and read harry potter, but skipped the first one because I just couldn't get into it. I also read a long time ago The Children of the Promise, and Hearts of the Children series. Anyway, I know some of you think I don't read but I read sometimes. I read lots of poorly written papers and well written, and some "what the heck is this" music all day.
